A bit scary – tomorrow it is September and only a week away from my 50th. Not that age seems to have any relevance here.
Had a really good lie-in this morning, just reading books we had picked up from Edy. Sally was still in her nightie right through past lunchtime. Karen and I went to see if any more book had turned up in the email, as another weekend had passed at home. We had noticed people sitting with lappies on a set of steps, so thought we would try that too. Bingo – free internet! So much nicer than sitting in a hot room with a clock ticking away our Euros.
Back for lunch on the terrace. We just love the terrace. It is so nice having almost all our meals there, watching the world go by. This has been a very easy town to live in. Everything is so close, the atmosphere is very casual, and our location is superb, even is there is the odd sewage-like whiff from time to time – not sure where from. Karen got a text from Hannah to say she had done the last major part of the book, and I did a bit of work to send back, then we went back into town to send and receive emails. This baby laptop is proving excellent – I will seriously consider taking it again even if we don’t have the need for it that we have this trip (with Karen’s book and my work). Every year there will be more wireless connections available I expect.
Not looking forward to tomorrow morning when we have to lug all our gear up a million steps to where the car is. We’ll have to take two trips no doubt. We will miss it here though.
