Tuesday 6 October - Sandy & Lynette Arrive

Up quite early so we could get the last major round of the book sorted. This took until after lunch – it's been a long job, and not really what we wanted to be doing while on holiday, but with this stay-put type of trip it really hasn't been a nuisance at all.

Had lunch here, then the last bit of the book, and finally off to Perpignan to collect Sandy & Lynette, our neighbours form Nelson, who will be staying with us for a week. Stopped off at the Argeles-Sur-Mer Carrefours supermarket for a major stock-up before we headed into Perpignan.

We parked in the gare carpark, with a good hour to spare before they arrived. Not enough time to look around, but plenty for a coffee! Took our time watching the populace, and the comings and goings at the station opposite before heading across the road. Unfortunately the train was 25 minutes late so there was a little bit of hanging about, but Sandy & Lynette duly arrived having had a few days in Nice and Cannes.

Took them the half-hour back from Perpignan, and sat down by the pool for a rosé and cheese, which drifted slowly into dinner until 8:30pm, by now well and truly dark.
